Why does Eliezer say that the two of them "had never understood one another so clearly"?

It was on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. Everyone in the camp prayed to god and all of them participated in a solemn service. However, Eliezer questioned the god existence. He didn’t listen to other people’s prayer saying that “all the earth and universe are God’s”. He questioned god “what are you, my god? I thought angrily. How do you compare to this stricken mass gathered to affirm to You their faith, their anger, their defiance? What does Your grandeur mean, master of the Universe, in the face of all this cowardice, this decay, and this misery? Why do you go on troubling these poor people’s wounded minds, their ailing bodies?” (66). As days pass by Eliezer’s faith on god has changed significantly. He used to be very devoted religious person who used to cry in church while praying but everything has changed as thorough living in concentration camp. He constantly questions god’s existence.
On the New Year’s night Eliezer walked to his dad to wish him happy New Year. When Eliezer kissed him tear dropped on his hand, no one knew who’s tears it was. They never had understood each other. One of the reasons that they never understood one another so clearly was due to the life in concentration camp that kept them separate. Everyone is busy doing their own thing in order to survive so they would have no time to take care for each other. Also in camps people were treated so severely like an animal, for this reason they both had no strength to express their opinions and talk to each other more.

  1. I think it would be better if you put more work on the prompt question and shorten the quotes.
